Janakpur, Feb.14: It has been found that 21 private hospitals have been running in an unauthorized manner under Madhes province.

It has been revealed that 21 private hospitals in Janakpurdham do not have permits and some have not been renewed during the monitoring conducted a few days ago by a team including Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh.

During the monitoring, CM Singh instructed to close the hospital and transfer the patients undergoing treatment there to other hospitals.

He also instructed all the related agencies to take action against the unauthorized hospitals.

Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh, Health and Population Minister Shatrudhan Prasad Singh, Health Officer were present in the monitoring.

Some of them have been closed by the hospital owners themselves, while some hospitals failed to comply with the directive of CM Singh.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhubaneshwar Tiwari said that the police have arrested a hospital operator who disobeyed the instructions.

There is a legal provision to give service approval by federal, provincial, and local governments to hospitals that have met the criteria.

In the Province Health Act, it is considered a punishable offense to operate a hospital without obtaining a service operation permit. In the Act, there is a provision to close such hospitals and impose a fine of Rs. 100,000.

Most of the hospitals that are registered as private limited companies in the company registrar's office do not have a hospital operating permit, while some of the licensed hospitals have not renewed.

Unauthorized hospital operators formed a private hospital association two days before protesting against the government's monitoring.
