Kathmandu, Feb 13: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Dipak Khadka, and Indian Minister for Jal Shakti, CR Patil, held meeting in New Delhi today. Energy Minister Khadka is in New Delhi to attend 'India Energy Week-2025'.
During the meeting, an agreement
was reached to forward Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project by completing detailed
project report soon, said senior energy expert at the Energy Minister, Prabal
Adhikari.
On the occasion, discussion was
held to organise a meeting of the joint committee on coming March 22-24 for the
management of floods and inundation.
Both the countries agreed to
forward discussion through bilateral meeting regarding DPR of Saptakoshi
Multipurpose Project.
Minister Khadka recalled that the meeting
and discussion held on November 5 has further encouraged to forward important
activities in water resources sector with collaboration of two countries.
Similarly, Minister Patil mentioned
that the Indian government was positive to give final shape to DPR of
Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project and forward the project soon.
Present in the meeting were
Secretary at the Energy Ministry, Suresh Acharya, senior energy expert Prabal
Adhikari, Joint-Secretary Sandip Kumar Dev, Economic Advisor of the Minister,
Amit Shrestha from Nepal's side as well as high-ranking officials from India
