Repair of damaged water supply pipe in Babarmahal begins

Kathmandu, Feb.13: The repair work of the pipeline that was damaged during horizontal drilling working of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for the installation of underground power supply wires has begun. 

Ashok Kumar Paudel, chief executive officer of Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) said that the repair work of the damaged pipeline has started since last night.

'Babarmahal got inundated because of leakage of water when the pipeline broke. We started the repair work when the water leakage stopped. We will proceed with water distribution once the repair work finishes. 

In the course of horizontal drilling to put electricity cables underground, bulk distribution system (BDS) pipe burst in Babarmahal, thereby inundating and destroying the premises of the Special Court and other government offices in the area. (Translated from RSS)
