One arrested from Jaleshwar with 600 kgs of marijuana

By MAHESH KUMAR DAS,  Jaleshwar,  Feb.7: Police have detained a person with 602 kg of marijuana in the Janakpur district.

Police Inspector Nandkishore Prasad Chauhan said that the police team dispatched from the District Police Office, Mahottari after receiving secret information about the illegal smuggling of marijuana seized 602 kgs of marijuana which was being illegally smuggled by hiding it in a truck (2-04-001 Kha 0021) on Thursday night.

In a press conference organized on Friday by the District Police Office, Mahottari and made the 23-year-old driver Ganesh Bahadur Biswarkama of Katari Municipality-1. Both the driver and the truck used to smuggle illegal marijuana have been seized by the Police. 

Police inspector Chauhan said that a joint team of temporary police post-Jamunia, of Majara, Bhangaha Municipality -6 under the Bardibas Jaleshwor road section and district police office Mahottari conducted a check on a truck coming from Bardibas towards Jaleshwor.

Police Inspector Chauhan said, "Marijuana was recovered from a hidden spot in the top hood of the empty truck, which was kept in a black tarpaulin and tied with a rope. We have seized the truck driver along with the recovered large quantity of marijuana and brought it to the District Police Office, Mahottari."

The seized marijuana, truck, and driver are now kept at the District Police Office, Mahottari, and necessary investigations is underway, police said.
