Kathmandu, Feb. 5: Shooting of senior filmmaker Tulsi Ghimire’s ‘Pahad’ began by performing a ‘Muhurat’ at Gorkha Durbar on Tuesday.

Actors Madan Krishna Shrestha, Arun Kshatri, and debut actress Panchami Ghimire participated in the Muhurat shot.

The film, written by Ghimire himself, revolves around the social and economic issues caused by the migration of young manpower to foreign countries, leaving the hills empty.

Ghimire said that he aims to present the bitter reality of today's society through his film.

The director expressed his enthusiasm about working with a strong team and said that returning to the film set after a break has been refreshing.

The film is produced by Ojashwi KC, and Pramod Pradhan is handling the cinematography.

Pradhan, who has previously worked on films, web series, and television dramas in India, has collaborated with Ghimire in films like ‘Anyaya’, ‘Koseli’, ‘Chino’, and ‘Dakshina’.

Pradhan has returned to Nepal for the shooting of a Nepali film after 30 years. The film will be shot in Gorkha and its surrounding areas for 25 days and in India for 15 days.

Under the banner of Bhagya Ratna Films, the film also features actors Bipin Karki and Sunil Thapa.

Ranjit Gajmer is the music director, while Bharati Ghimire is the creative director.

After taking a break from directing following his last film, Darpan Chhaya 2, director Ghimire has now returned to silver screen with Pahad.
