Mother dies, son injured in scooter-tipper collision

By Amar Raj Naharki, Tanahun, Feb.3: One person died and two others got injured when a tipper hit a car and a scooter in Male Bagar of Shuklagandaki Municipality, Tanahun district Tanahun on the Prithviraj highway at 6 PM on Sunday. 

The empty Tipper (Ga 1 Ka 5896) en route from  Khairenitar to Damauli hit the car (Pra 3 01-022 Cha 6778) and scooter (Ga 18 Pa 7752) coming from the opposite direction. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashok Thapa from the District Police Office, Tanahun,  said that 41-year-old Apsara Chhetri, of Lekhnath, Pokhara Metropolitan City-32, who was riding a scooter died after being hit by a tipper, while her 21-year-old Dipesh Kumar Chhetri received injuries. 

Similarly, 31-year-old Mahesh Poudel, of Sakhe, Shuklagandaki Municipality -11, Tanahun, who was riding a car, also received injuries. 

According to the Police, The tipper driver, Prakash Gurung, aged 40, of Bhulbhule Neelakantha Municipality of Dhading district, has been detained by the police and further investigation into the incident is underway.
