Lalitpur, Jan 30: Japan's newly appointed Ambassador to Nepal, Toru Maeda, has said that Japan will continue its economic and technical support for Nepal's development.
At a reception organized by the JICA Alumni Association of Nepal (JAAN) in his honor here today, he said that Nepal-Japan relations have been friendly, close and harmonious for a long time.
Lauding the role of JAAN in strengthening the relations between the two countries, he expressed his confidence that the members of JAAN will continue to play an important role in strengthening the relations between the two countries and for the development of Nepal in the future.
On the occasion, Chairperson of JAAN, Dr Ramchandra Bhusal, said that Association has played a significant role in strengthening the relations between Nepal and Japan for the past five decades, while also introducing Japanese technology to Nepal, and supporting the economic development of the country.
Resident Representative of JICA Nepal, Mizuki Matsuzaki, high-ranking government officials, JAAN members, high-ranking officials of the Japanese Embassy and JICA Nepal, among others were also present.(RSS)
