Kathmandu, Jan 29: The Westerly wind has its influence in the country at present and the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and fair in the rest of the country.
The Department of Hydrology and
Meteorology said fog has occurred in many places of the Tarai region.
According to Meteorologist Rojan
Lamichhane, the weather will likely remain partly cloudy in the Kathmandu
Valley until the afternoon today. The minimum temperature in the Valley was 8.5
degrees Celsius this morning and the maximum temperature is forecast between 18
to 20 degrees Celsius.
The Department said the weather
will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region and fair in the rest of
the country in the afternoon today. There are chances of intermittent to light
rain at one or two places in the hilly region of Koshi, Karnali and
Sudurpaschim provinces. Similarly, there is possibility of light snowfall at
one or two places of the high hilly and mountainous region of Koshi, Bagmati,
Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces today.

The Department stated that there is
the possibility of scattered to light rain at one or two places of the hilly
region of Koshi, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and of light snowfall at a
few places in the high hilly and mountainous region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki,
Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces in the next 24 hours.
Stating that fog is likely to occur
in many places of the Tarai on Thursday morning, the Department has urged all
concerned to remain alert as it may affect daily life, agriculture, health,
