The morning rally started from Babarmahal, went round Maitighar and returned to Babarmahal to converge into a gathering.

Addressing the gathering vice-chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Agni Sapkota, also former Speaker, denounced efforts to vulgarise history by tarnishing the People's War, the most transformative political rebellion in the country.

"To call the people's war a violence is to cheat history, to dishonor the revolution which brought about the present political set up of inclusive, republic federal system," he said, adding, "Journalists also have the role to fight back attempts to distort history."

Expressing best wishes on the occasion of 21st establishment day of PCN, the former Speaker urged journalists to give voice to the voiceless, the oppressed and marginalized people so that those in power are forced to address the plight of the powerless, marginalized, oppressed, working class people.

On the occasion, founding Chairman of the PCN and Maoist Center leader, Maheshwar Dahal, urged PCN members to adapt to the digital age and reach out to the people with true picture of the society so that the people are well-informed.

PCN Chairman Bishnu Sapkota Jugal and general secretary Santosh Paudel also addressed the gathering extending their best wishes to all the members and reiterating commitment to bolster the PCN for the sake of the working journalists and the working class people.

After taking the dawn rounds and the corner gathering, the PCN also held its central committee meeting today.
