Kathmandu, Jan. 28: Four people have been arrested for cheating people by promising foreign employment with lucrative salaries.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, police have arrested 25-year-old Sunil Dashaudi of Chhatreshwori Rural Municipality-6 of Salyan District -2, currently living at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14 and 31-year-old Bikash Dawadi of Panchkhal Municipality, Kavrepalanchowk and currently living at Mahalaxmi Municipality-5 of Lalitpur district, 37 year old Surendra BK of Shaidlakhan rural Municipality-7, Gorkha and currently living at KMC-16 and 24 year old Bisakha Poudel of Gokarneshwor - 8, Jorpati were cheating people with fake promises of foreign employment with lucrative salaries.
Sunil deceived a victim into paying Rs 2,138,000 promising to send them to Serbia, Bikash deceived two victims into paying Rs 300,000 promising to send them to Japan, while Surendra deceived a victim into paying Rs 9.7 million promising them to send them to USA and Bishakha deceived a victim into paying Rs 160,000 promising them to send them to Kuwait.
All four of them have been detailed of fraud. They became contactless with the victims following the monetary transaction.
A team of police from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office deployed at Teku after the victims filed complaints, Sunil was arrested from Teku, Surendra was arrested from KMC-14, Bishakha was arrested from KMC-12 on Sunday, and Bikash was arrested from Mahalaxmi Municpaliyuy-5 on Monday.
Sunil, Bikash, and Bishakha are sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, and Surendra is sent to the Area Police office, Kathmandu, for further investigation and action.
