MoFA aggrieves fatal train accident in Maharashtra, India

Kathmandu, Jan 24: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed sorrow over the train accident that took place on Wednesday in Maharastra of India, causing 12 deaths including seven Nepalis.     

The accident occurred on January 22 near the Paradhande (PHQ) Railway Station in Jalgaon district.     

Issuing a press statement on Friday, the Ministry has extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, paying tributes to the departed souls. The Minister wished for a quick recovery of those injured in the mishap.     

Among the Nepalis killed in the accident, according to the ministry, were Kamala Naveen Bhandari, 43 (female) from Kailali, Lachhiram Pasi, 40, (male) from Kailali, Himu Nandaram Bishwokarma,11, (male) from Mangalsen of Achham, Nandaram Padhma Bishwokarma, 44, (male) from Mangalsen of Achham, Maisara Kami Bishwokarma, 42, (female) from Mangalsen of Achham, Jokla aka Kala Kami, 60, (female) from Kamal Bazaar of Achham and Radheshyam Radh Nepali,32, (male).     

Of the four injured in the accident, three are receiving treatment at the local hospital and one who has been critically injured is being treated at the Godavari Hospital, Jalgaun.     

As the Ministry said, it has been coordinating with the Indian authorities concerned through the Nepali Embassy in Delhi and the Kathmandu-based Embassy of India to bring the bodies back the country and to ensure effective treatment to the injured.(RSS)
