Woman arrested in suspect of involvement in murder of elderly

By Rekhi Ram Rana, Tansen,  Jan.20: The police have arrested a woman for being involved in the murder of an elderly woman. 

According to the Police, 54-year-old Nira Kumari Lamtari of Harkekhark, Ribdikot Rural Municipality -5, Palpa district was arrested by the police as a suspect in an involvement in an elderly murder case. 

A septuagenarian Bhum Kamari Aale, aged 78, had gone to fetch firewood in the nearby jungle on July 15, 2022, but was found dead at Kusumkhola, Ribdikot- 5. 

Ale, who went to the forest to find firewood in the morning, was found dead in the forest in the same evening.

Chief of District Police Office, Palpa,  Superintendent of Police  Narendra Chand said that Police have arrested Lamtari for her involvement in the murder. 

He said that Lamtari was arrested after the victim's family lodged a complaint while the investigation had been going on for 2.5 years.

Aale had an injury on the forehead which made locals suspect that she might have been murdered.

 Police said that further investigation into the matter is underway.
