Stadium being built in honour of cricketer Lamichhane

Waling (Syangja), July 12: In honour of former Captain of Nepal's National Cricket Team Sandeep Lamichhane, the construction of a cricket stadium was initiated at Aruchaur village in Arjunchaupari Rural Municipality-5, Syangja district.

The Arjunchaupari Rural Municipality is investing for the construction of the stadium at Thaple area. Cricketer Lamichhane was at Aruchaur in Arjunchaupari Rural Municipality-5.  

Chairman of rural municipality Prakash Tiwari said that investment is made from the local government and the local residents have extended their in-kind support to build a cricket stadium at a public space in the top of the hill from the current fiscal year 2081/82 BS. 

"Currently, we are working to clear the ground and make it plain. We will complete the stadium soon by expediting the job immediately after the end of the rainy season," rural municipality chairman Tiwari added.

The construction site is at the height of 1907 meter from the sea level and the stadium is named as 'Nineteen O Seven Arena'. (RSS)
