Mulmi’s solo painting exhibition held

By Our Correspondent,Lekhnath, Jan. 18: Radheshyam Mulmi, an artist, narrated stories of his creative works with the artists and art fans who entered the art gallery on Friday.

In the solo exhibition of Mulmi, organised by the Department of Art under the Pokherli Youth Cultural Family, he explained the theme of painting and the motivation for holding the exhibition.   

A total of 25 paintings of Mulmi were displayed at the one-day exhibition. Several senior artists also visited the gallery.  Former vice chancellor of Nepal Music and Drama Academy Saru Bhakta, artist Durga Baral ‘Batsayan’ and others observed his paintings.  

Mulmi did his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from Panjab University in 1978 and got retirement as an art professor from Tribhuvan University. 

Over the years, he has showcased his works in various solo and group exhibitions in countries including India, Pakistan, Germany, Japan, South Korea as well as in Nepal.

On Saturday, he is set to receive the prestigious Lalitkal Prize, further recognising his significant contributions to the art. Artist Batsayan established the prize by adding money to the prizes he received in the past.
