Kathmandu, Jan 17: Opposition political parties have demanded the commencement of regular winter session of the Federal Parliament at the earliest.
The CPN (Maoist Centre), the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), the CPN (Unified Socialist), the Rastriya Janamorcha, the Aam Janata Party and the Nepal Socialist Party held a joint meeting on Friday, calling for the convening of the House session immediately.
The meeting also expressed its concerns over the 'delay' in summoning the parliamentary session and issuance of ordinances by withdrawing bills that were under discussion in the parliamentary committees.
The meeting also drew the government's attention to the 'urgency' to conclude the peace process and ensure justice to the survivors.
The meeting was attended by Maoist Centre's Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Unified Socialist Chair Madhab Kumar Nepal, RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden, RSP acting President DP Aryal, Janamorcha's Vice Chair Durga Paudel, Aam Janata's joint-Chair Tilak Thapa Magar and Nepal Socialist's Chair Mahendra Ray Yadav among others.(RSS)
