By Raj Kumar Bhattarai,Khotang, Dec.1: A trekking route constructed to reach Manjushree Cave in the Halesi area has eased the travel of the devotees.
Halesi, located at Mahadevsthan of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-7 in Khotang, is a center of faith of Hindu, Buddhist and Kirat. Pilgrims from all over Nepal throng to Halesi to behold Manjushree cave.
The route leading to Manjushree cave is very difficult. Devotees said that after the construction of the trekking route, it became easier for them to reach the cave.
Halesi Tuwachung Municipality believes that the construction of the trekking route would significantly increase the flow of tourists.
Buddhists, especially those who come to Halesi Marti, visit the Manjushree Cave as well.
Bimala Rai, Mayor of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality, said that the trekking route has been constructed as the devotees were injured due to the difficult terrain.
Attractive stones have been laid on a 360-metre-long trekking route. The trekking route, which is 2 meters to 5 meters wide, looks beautiful from a distance.
Along with the Manjushree trekking route, the Tuwachung Trekking Route and Mangikham Ghar have been constructed with a joint contract of Rs. 55 million.
About 95 per cent of the work of the Manjushree trekking route has been completed.
According to Dhurba Thapa, a representative of Colonel Samriddhi JV, the construction of the Tuwachung trekking route is also going on in full swing.
However, the construction work of the Mangikham Ghar has not started yet. According to him, the construction of the wall at Basahathan playground has also been done with the same contract.
