By Bishnu Prasad Pokharel, Damak, Nov.15: Police seized 9 tractors while they were illegally extracting river materials in Biring river, in Jhapa, on Thursday.
According to District Police Office Jhapa, a team of metro police, police, and Armed Police Force (APF) officers seized tractors went to the spot and seized all nine tractors after receiving information about illegally extracting river materials from Biring River at Arjundhara Municipality-7. All tractors are handed over to Arjundhara Municipality,
Arjundhara Municipality Ward No. According to District Police Office Jhapa, after receiving information that tractors were illegally extracting river products from the Biring River located at 7, the Janpath and Armed Police together with the city police seized the tractors and handed them over to Arjundhara Municipality.
According to the Police, tractor with registration number (Me 1 Ta 5326), (Me 1 Ta 7529), (Pra 1-001- Ta 9300) (Me 1 Ta 8420), (Me 1 Ta 8866), (Me 1 Ta 6080) (Me 1 Ra 2483) (Me 1 Ta 7294) and one identity making nine tractors were extracting sand and grit.
Illegal mining is observed in the rivers of Jhapa.
