Film editor Ghimire in American Film Market

Kathmandu, Nov. 12: Nishan Ghimire, a distinguished film editor and director of music videos and films has participated in the prestigious American Film Market from Nepal. 

The American Film Market is considered the largest film trade fair in the world, attracting film entrepreneurs worldwide each year. The 45th edition took place from November 5 to 10 in Las Vegas.

The event featured over 100 speakers from more than 80 countries, discussing a range of topics such as film financing, production, distribution, management, artificial intelligence, film streaming, storytelling, and more. 

 Ghimire said that participants at the fair had opportunities to view new films, purchase them, present projects for investment, and network. 

Ghimire attended the event, representing his company Rad Studio and Nepal’s film sector.

 He interacted with numerous filmmakers from diverse countries, including Italy, the British Virgin Islands, Saudi Arabia, Japan, West Virginia Economic Development, Poland, Hollywood, Bollywood, Turkey, and China.

Nishan expressed his intent to bring insights from this experience into his upcoming projects.

Nishan said that his participation in the American Film Market had infused him with renewed energy, inspiring him to promote collaboration between the Nepali film industry and international film markets, share experiences and introduce Nepal to 

new technologies.

 He believes that such interactions are vital to creating an international market for Nepali films and enhancing Nepal’s presence in the global film industry.

Last year, Nishan also participated in the Focus 2023 Meet the Makers conference in London, presenting his work.

 With over two decades of experience in editing Nepali films and music videos, Nishan is considered one of the most successful 

editors in Nepal.
