Kathmandu, Nov 8: Deputy General Manager at Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Shyam Prasad Rimal, has retired from service from today due to age limit. Rimal had joined RSS service as a Reporter of Officer Rank, Sixth Level on permanent basis on March 15, 1995.
He served as the reporter, editor and the chief editor before this during his 29 years career at RSS, the National News Agency. His latest position was as the Chief of Finance and Administration Division at RSS.
Let us learn from Rimal's vigour
Addressing the farewell cum regular meeting of RSS employees, Executive Chairman Dharmendra Jha praised Rimal for his role in the enrichment of quality of news service and its diversification at RSS.
Executive Chair Jha said it is necessary to learn from Rimal's activeness and honest fulfillment of the institution's responsibilities.
"RSS is strong also in terms of documentation in recent years; RSS can take a leap on the basis of this. He played a significant role in the round-the-clock dissemination of RSS news service, establishment of the RSS Museum and expansion of the news service in the mother languages," Jha said.
Executive Chairman Jha also said that Rimal's creativeness has worked as the axis of language guidance in the last decade at RSS and that RSS would be benefited from his knowledge and experience in future as well.
General Manager Siddha Raj Rai said that Rimal actively and sincerely fulfilled his responsibilities in various services at RSS, demonstrating the highest professionalism.
He shared that it was necessary to pay attention on developing language and professional skill by improving weaknesses.
Similarly, RSS Board members-- Krishna Adhikari and Dilli Ram Bhattarai stressed that all should actively involve increasing income of RSS and arranging sources while RSS Executive Manager Shital Prasad Mahato shared that the research report prepared by Rimal for the protection of RSS's physical property and reform of management is remarkable.
Chairperson of RSS Employee's Association and Federation of Nepali Journalist, RSS chapter, Pabitra Guragain, Chairperson of Nepal National Employees' Organisation, RSS, Prem Prasad Upadhyay, and Chairperson of RSS Employees' Union, Kalika Khadka, talked about the significant contribution of Rimal for news writing and improvement in language.
