Govt giving high priority to Madhes development: Leader Shrestha

Siraha, Oct 26 : Former minister and CPN UML leader Lilanath Shrestha has said that the current government has given high priority to the development of Madhes.    

Speaking at a programme organized by the UML in Navrajpur on the occasion of Vijayadashami, Happy Deepawali, Chhath and Eid festivals, he said that the federal government had prioritized construction of postal road and other roads, municipal buildings and other structures in the province.    

The Sunkosi Kamala Diversion Project under the Tarai-Madhes Prosperity Program is expected to help irrigate thousands bighas of arable land in Madhes and uplift the farmers here, he said.    

On the occasion, Minister for Health and Population of Madhes Province, Shatrudhan Prasad Singh, said that the provincial government was working to provide quality healthcare services by building well-equipped hospitals at every local level.   (RSS)
