RSS presents historic photos to Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication

Kathmandu, Oct 24: The Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) presented four sets of historic pictures to Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, the Tribhuvan University today.     

RSS's Executive Chairperson Dharmendra Jha, during the handover, highlighted the importance of those photos for research and studies of journalism.     

Recognizing the Department as the oldest institution of the country for journalism studies, Jha stated that its strengthening is crucial for advancing country's journalism.     

He believed that those pictures would be useful as resource materials for the research and studies into journalism.     

On the occasion, Department Chief Dr Kundan Aryal outlined the Department plan to conduct a brief training on journalism on mass communication and journalism apart from running classes on these media studies.     

He underscored utmost utilization of the well-equipped classrooms, radio studio, multi-media room, library and international-standard conference room that the Department had in its new building.     

Present on the occasion representing the RSS were its General Manager Siddha Raj Rai, Deputy General Manager Somnath Lamichhane, Chief Editor Uttam Silwal and Chief of Feature Section Krishna Adhikari as well as Department's officials.(RSS)
