Political stability ensured following two parties' alliance: Minister Gurung

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct 16: Government spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that the coalition between the parties was meant for political stability and that it has been established with the ruling alliance between the CPN (UML) and the Nepali Congress (NC).

Minister Gurung said so while inaugurating the commencement of the news broadcasting on Danuwar language by the Radio Nepal today.

On the occasion, the government spokesperson viewed that the incumbent government was capable in expediting capital expenditure.

"This government will not let emerge a situation wherein contractors complain that they have not got amount for the works done," said Minister Gurung, "Development works have sped up and the government is working honestly."

The Minister urged all to extend support to the government works as development expenditure has accelerated since the incumbent government was formed with the two parties' alliance.

He said the government was capable enough to end widespread frustration in the people and argued that no change can occur overnight, but the results appear gradually.

The Minister underlined the need for equality to manage conflict in society.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said news in different languages is essential to keep social diversity intact. 

Minister Gurung said it while inaugurating the 'Nepal Bhasa news service' launched by Nepal Television today. "Nepal is rich in diversity. The diversity needs to be reflected in news as well. State institutions have roles to paint country's mosaic," he stressed. 

The Minister stressed the Nepal Television should foster unity in diversity by incorporating the marginalized communities. 

"The Nepal Television is of the State and it should reflect the state's character. There are many people speaking Nepal Bhasa in the Kathmandu Valley. They feel proud to watch and listen news in their language," he reminded.

Stating that RSS introduced the service in Nepal Bhasa since Tuesday, Minister Gurung mentioned that introducing the service in Nepal Bhasa by Nepal Television and Radio Nepal is a significant move. He stressed that media house should produce and disseminate contents that raise hope among the people. 


Similarly, Secretary at the Ministry, Radhika Aryal, mentioned that the Nepal Television has done an important task on time and expressed the belief that such work would also help protect the script of the language spoken largely in this region. 

Likewise, Chairperson of the Nepal Television, Samir Jung Shah, shared that the Nepal Television was always ready to fulfill its responsibility towards the State despite limited means and resources.

General Manager at Nepal Television Phulman Bal said the Nepal Television had started broadcasting news in various languages since last year.

It has been broadcasting news in Tamang and Gurung languages since last year.

The state-run television started news broadcasting service in Nepal Bhasa, the second most spoken language in Bagmati Province from today. 

This initiative is a part of the organization's effort to promote State's priorities on inclusion, added GM Bal.

The Nepal Bhasa news will be broadcast at 4:30 PM today on Nepal Television today. 

According to the census of 2078 BS, an approximately 883,000 (3 per cent) of the country's population speak Nepal Bhasa.

Present on the occasion were executive Chairperson of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Dharmendra Jha; Press Council Nepal's President Bal Krishna Basnet; and Gorkhapatra Sansthan's General Manager Lal Bahadur Airi, among others.
