Parbat, Oct 10: The Modibeni to
Mudikuwa road in Parbat has opened for traffic.
The road remained blocked since last three
months due to landslides triggered by the monsoon rains. The road came into
operation since Wednesday morning.
Mayor of Phalebas Municipality, Gangadhar
Tiwari, said the road has been put into operation targeting Bada Dashain, the
great festival of Nepali Hindus.
As a result, passenger vehicles from Kushma to
Phalebas, Mahashila, Bihadi, Paiyu Rural Municipalities of Parbat have
benefitted.
The Phalebas-Armadi section of Kaligandaki
highway has not been completed even after seven years due to the negligence of
the contractor. Although the section from Modibeni to Mudikuwa is operational
it remains blocked from Armadi to Modibeni.
Kaligandi Corridor Project Office Palpa said
that due to the lack of work on that section on time the bids for black topping
work were not even called and the budget is not guaranteed in the current
financial year. (RSS)
