Man allegedly killed in elephant attack in Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur, Oct 8: Umesh Chaudhary, 22, was allegedly killed in attack by an elephant at Pushpalal Memorial Community Forest of Belauri municipality-5 in Kanchanpur last night.

Chaudhary was on the way home along with his two colleagues on a motorcycle Se 4 Pa 8618 after watching a dance festival organized on the occasion of the Dashain festival at Mainaha.  

Upon hearing the sound of elephant Umesh and his two colleagues fled by leaving the motorcycle. Later two came into contact, but Umesh was found dead in the forest area this morning. 

Police have noticed a trace of elephant dung and the sign of plants being damaged by the animal in the area from where the body was retrieved. 

Just a week ago, Ramdal Rana, 59, of Lalajhadi rural municipality in the district was killed in an elephant attack. (RSS)
