Tharu Commission submits annual report to President

Kathmandu, Oct 7: The Tharu Commission has submitted its annual report for the fiscal year 2080/81 before President Ramchandra Paudel.     

Chairman of the Commission Bishnu Prasad Chaudhary submitted the report to the President at a ceremony held at the Office of the President at Sheetal Niwas today. The report incorporates the works done in that fiscal year.     

On that occasion, President Paudel said that culture is an important means of maintaining the identity of individuals and communities.     

"The Tharu community has been living in the Terai region of Nepal for ages and this community has its own language, culture, costumes, tradition, civilization and culture," he said.(RSS)
