JSP Nepal takes Progressive Alliance membership

Kathmandu, Oct 7: The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal has taken the membership of the International Organization Progressive Alliance. The world conference held on Monday in Santiago, Chile in South America has decided to grant membership to the party.

 With this decision of the joint international organization of socialist, social democratic, labour and progressive parties, JSP became a new member of the Alliance.

It was decided unanimously to grant membership to JSP Nepal in the voting for new membership at the conference, which has 190 political party members in the world. 

About 200 representatives of Progressive Alliance political parties from all continents participated in the international convention. JSP Nepal chairman Upendra Yadav and Foreign Affairs Department Head Arjun Thapa represented the party in the conference.

The conference was concluded laying emphasis on freedom, social justice, guarantee of human rights, ending the gender discrimination, socio-economic and caste discrimination, inequality and oppression and environmental protection for the era of progressive and international solidarity. (RSS)
