NEPSE posts double-digit growth, all groups become green

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 7: The benchmark of the stock market, NEPSE, has posted a double-digit growth on Sunday, the first transaction day of the week.

The index increased by 56.09 points to close at 2,653.58 points on Sunday. 

The sensitive index which measures the performance of group ‘A’ companies increased by 9.75 points to close at 476.46 points. 

A total of 15,046,710 shares worth Rs. 6.13 billion of 308 companies were bought and sold in 69,860 transactions today.

The sub-indices of all groups increased in today’s transaction.

Sub-index of the manufacturing and processing group saw the highest growth of 219.76 points followed by the finance and non-life insurance group whose indices increased by 199.01 points and 191.76 points respectively.

Similarly, sub-index of life insurance group increased by 172.75 points, development bank by 115.02 points, hotels and tourism by 109.74 points, hydropower by 85.36 points, and microfinance by 71.57 points. 

The sub-index of banking went up by 32.83 points, others by 32.59 points, trading by 32 points, investment by 2.08 points and mutual fund by 0.03 points.

The share price of 219 companies increased while the share price of 23companies decreased in today’s transaction.

Share price of Nyadi Hydropower increased significantly by 10 per cent while the share price of Madhya Bhotekoshi Jalvidyut Company increased by 9.76 per cent, Eastern Hydropower by 9.68 per cent, Goodwill Finance by 9.27 per cent and Synergy Power Development by 8.14 per cent.

However, share prices of Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha decreased by 10 per cent, Kumari Sabal Yojana by 9.43 per cent, NIC Asia Select Fund 30 by 6.70 per cent and Swarojgar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha by 5.49 per cent.
