By Phadindra Adhikari,Lekhnath, Sept. 27: In celebration of World Tourism Day, a mini street festival is set to take place at Lakeside, Pokhara’s main tourist hub.

The Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN), known for hosting a grand street festival each year during the English New Year, has announced its decision to organise a street festival in observation of World Tourism Day.

Scheduled for Friday evening, the one-day mini festival will run along the route on the banks of Fewa Lake from Ambot to Barahichowk.

Festival coordinator Birendra Sherchan expressed hopes that the event, themed “Eat on the road, have fun on the road,” will play a significant role in promoting tourism in the region.

Sherchan also revealed that various cultural programmes are planned for the festival. “We aim to hold a celebration worthy of the capital of tourism, showcasing Tourism Day in a distinctive and grand manner,” he said.

REBAN President Bishwaraj Paudel highlighted that the festival will feature a diverse array of domestic and international culinary delights, traditional ethnic cultures, costumes, cultural dances, and displays of popular tourist spots.

Paudel noted that the timing of the festival, coinciding with the peak tourist season, will offer a warm welcome to visitors and significantly contribute to tourism promotion on this important day.
