By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 20: Waling Municipality has strengthened its spot in the Top 5 list to progress to the second phase of the ANFA Women’s League after a win against Bagmati Youth Club (BYC) in Round 6 on September 19.

Defeating BYC by 4-0, Waling also overtook Koshi to climb to fourth place in the points table. Waling’s foreign players Cissy Nantongo and Jackline Nassali were the goal scorers; both scored two each.

Cissy made it 2-0 by the end of the first half scoring in the 22nd and 40th minutes. Jackline made it 4-0 with goals in the 54th and 83rd minutes.

By the end of Round 6, APF, Tribhuvan Army, Nepal Police, Waling, and Koshi were the teams in the Top five positions, respectively.

After the loss, BYC has lost its chance to progress to the Top 5. With three matches in hand, BYC can reach Koshi’s current 10 points if they win the next three games. But BYC has its final confrontation with the APF Club, the defending champion, in the final round.

Sankata, with 5 points in 6 matches, could progress to the Top 5 if they win the next three matches and Koshi and Waling fail to win any.

Nevertheless, Chandrapur is the closest of the bottom teams in the race to the Top 5 as they could overthrow either Waling or Koshi if they win in all the upcoming fixtures. Chandrapur faces Koshi and Waling in Round 8 and 9 respectively.
