EC publishes poll schedules for by-election

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 20: The Election Commission (EC) has published the election schedules for the upcoming local-level by-election scheduled for  December 1. 

According to EC’s Assistant Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Sapkota, the EC has fixed the party registration period from September 26 to October 2 for election purposes. 

Similarly, the party registration will be approved on October 6. On the same day, the Commission will also prepare election guidelines, procedures, standards and a code of conduct and manage election materials, human resources, voter education, training and capacity building. 

According to the EC, the final voter roll will be published and the polling stations will be determined on November 11. 

Similarly, the offices of returning officers will be established on November 15 and election activities will begin on November 17.
