Nepal Police hands Koshi their first loss in League

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 12: After keeping a clean sheet and scoring four goals past the opponent twice in the first three games of the ANFA Women's League-2080, Koshi Province faced the same fate, but now as the opponent, through the hands of Nepal Police Club.

Nepal Police scored four goals against Koshi in the first match of Round 4 played at ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur. However, Koshi could not score a single in response.

Anushka Sherpa's goal in the 24th minute was the opener for Nepal Police. And it was Nirmala Upadhyay who made it 2-o in the 46th minute.

Similarly, the two more goals came in the 79th and 88th minutes through Samjhana Lawati and Amrita Jaisi respectively.

With the win, Nepal Police is now the topper of the League table with three wins and a draw in four matches (10 points). They bettered Koshi, the only team to win the first three matches, as the eastern province got limited to 9 points.

Koshi had won the first three matches without facing a departmental team. Nepal Police was the first while Koshi faces Army and APF in the upcoming rounds.

On the other hand, Sankata registered its first win in the League after losing three consecutive games. Sankata defeated Karnali Province in the other match of the day on Wednesday.

Sankata's two foreign players gave the team a 2-0 win over Karnali. Selina Anima and Temilope Jennifer Owoeye scored the goals in the injury time of first half and 55th minute respectively. Karnali, with a draw in the first match, is yet to win any.

Tribhuvan Army vs Bagmati Youth Club and Waling Municipality vs APF are the two matches to be played on Thursday.
