Family of Panchthar blast victims to get Rs. 500,000

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 12: The government has announced to provide Rs. 500,000 in compensation to the family whose two kids died 

in an explosion at Dandagaun of Phalejung Rural Municipaity-5, Panchthar. 

A cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to provide the amount to the family of the deceased and cover the treatment costs for Pawan Rai and Dipson Rai, who were injured in the explosion, informed Health Minister Pradip Paudel. 

The cabinet decided to cover the treatment costs for Pawan Rai and Dipsan Rai, both injured when an abandoned war-era handmade socket bomb went off on August 29.

The explosion claimed the lives of two young children, 11-year-old Dipsan Sawa and his sister two-and-a-half-year-old Prinsa Sawa. 

Currently, Pawan and Dipsan are receiving treatment at the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur.

In response to the tragedy, Minister for Health and Population, Paudel, confirmed that the government would cover the medical expenses for the two children injured in the blast.

Minister Paudel recently visited the hospital to assess the health conditions of the children and reiterated the government’s commitment to assisting the affected families.

Following the minister’s visit, the Council of Ministers formalised 

its decision to provide both financial relief for the families of the deceased and medical support for the injured ones.
