By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 10: Defending champions of the ANFA Women’s League, the Armed Police Force (APF) Club registered their second win in the 2081 season after defeating Chandrapur Municipality on Monday.

APF scored six goals past Chandrapur in the day’s second match at ANFA Complex in Lalitpur. Five different players scored, and the team kept a clean sheet.

Sabita Rana Magar opened the goal tally for APF against Chandrapur in the 18th minute. And before half time, APF made it 3-0 thanks to two successive goals by Renuka Nagarkoti in the 32nd and 35th minutes respectively.

The remaining three goals came in the second half. Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored the first goal in the second half in the 52nd minute. Similarly, Preeti Rai opened her goal account in the season after making it 5-0 in the 84th minute.

Chandrapur was struggling to prevent the APF from extending the lead further; however, Chandrapur was not finding a chance to counter attack. As the APF took the ball several times to Chandrapur’s box, the defenders had a hard time. As a result, APF earned a penalty in the final minutes. Gita Rana converted it in the 88th minute as the last goal of the match.

On the other hand, Waling Municipality also registered their second consecutive win in three matches since the League started on September 1. Waling defeated the women’s team of A-Division Club Sankata FC by 1-0 to make it seven points in the League table.

The only goal of the match was scored by Waling’s foreign player Cissy Nantongo in the 39th minute. Her shot from outside the 18-yard-box hit the top bar, rebounded and hit the goalie before reaching the back of the next.

The third round will end on Tuesday as Tribhuvan Army face Sudurpashchim in the only match of the day.
