By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 6: The second round of the ANFA Women’s League-2081 kicked off on Thursday with Koshi and Waling registering wins in two of the matches played at the Satdobato-based ANFA Complex ground.

Koshi registered their second win in two matches in the League while Waling, which lost the first match, opened their points on Thursday. Waling had lost to Koshi by 4-0 in the opening match of the League on September 1.

Koshi defeated Bagmati Youth Club (BYC) in the first match of the day while Waling emerged victorious against Karnali in the second confrontation of September 5.

Nevertheless, Koshi did not get the win they wanted. The eastern province was on a high after starting the campaign with four goals and a clean sheet; however, they conceded a goal against Karnali.

A mistake by Koshi defenders allowed Bishnu Maya to open the account for Karnali in the 26th minute. Despite not having enough possession against Koshi, Karnali utilised the chance in an immediate counter to score the first goal.

But the lead could only stay for around three minutes as Samikshya Magar levelled the score in the 29th. Samikshya headed home a long cross into the six-yard box from the halfway line by Neha Kumari

Chaudhary to equalise.

Koshi was failing to lead further despite dominating the play and denying BYC possession. It was only thanks to an own goal by BYC in the 56th minute that Koshi led 2-1; the score remained the same until the 90 minutes. Koshi now leads the League table with six points in two matches.

On the other hand, Waling, with a debut from foreign players, showed a different and better game against Karnali than what they performed against Koshi in the League opener.

Leading by 2-0 in the first half, Waling scored four goals by the end of the match to earn the first three points. Waling had procured three foreign players, all from Uganda, for the League; they missed the opening match due to registration issues.

And it was one of the foreigners, Jackline Nassali, who scored a hat-trick for Waling in the 4-0 win over Karnali. Jackline scored two goals in the first half and completed the hat-trick in the 70s. The final goal came in the final minutes of the match through Sukriya Miya. Karnali failed to return any goal allowing Waling to keep a clean sheet.

Two matches are scheduled on September 6. While Sankata FC faces Chandrapur Municipality in the first match, Nepal Police will compete against Sudurpashchim later.
