Visit enhanced Nepal-India mutual harmony: Foreign Minister

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug 22: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has said that her India visit played a significant role in enhancing mutual relations between Nepal and India.

Talking to journalists upon her arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport today from a five-day India visit Minister Dr Rana expressed her belief that the visit contributed to strengthening the friendly, cooperative, multifaceted and close relations between the two countries on the basis of equality and benefits.

Minister Dr Rana said, "I believe that my visit has provided guidance to expand connection at the highest level and to promote help and cooperation for mutual benefit through bilateral mechanisms in the future".

Meanwhile, Rss adds: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has said that her India visit had significantly contributed to promoting goodwill between Nepal and India.

Minister Dr Rana said the visit has added up to further strengthen friendly, cooperative, multidimensional and close ties on the basis of equality and mutual benefits.

Minister Dr Rana said that visit has paved ways to promote cooperation and assistance for mutual benefits through the means of bilateral mechanisms and to expand cooperation at the higher level and in different layers in the coming days.   

She said that her visit took place as per the programme of exchange of the high-level visits.   

On the occasion, Minister Dr Rana shared that she held talks with the Indian Prime Minister and External Affairs Minister in the amicable manner, and the meetings focused on the issues of Nepal's welfare and interests as well as the diverse area of the mutual interests.

Saying that she held a courtesy call on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, Minister Dr Rana stated that views to expand ongoing cooperation and strengthen existing friendship between Nepal and India were conferred. 

According to her, she handed over an invitation letter to Indian Prime Minister Modi on behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for state visit to Nepal.

This is the first visit of Dr Rana after she assumed the responsibility as the Foreign Minister.
