Heat wave condition likely in some places of Tarai

Kathmandu, April 22: The Himalayan region of the country and the hilly region of the Koshi Province are partly cloudy, while the rest of parts of the country are mainly fair at present. Light rain is happening in one or two places of the Koshi Province. 

The Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces will be generally cloudy. The remaining Himalayan regions as well as the Hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces will be partly cloudy, while the rest of the country will be mainly fair, according to the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

There is a possibility of light rain accompanied with snowfall at one or two places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of the Koshi Province, and some parts of the Himalayan regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

This afternoon, the Tarai regions and valleys as well as basins of Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, are likely to be hotter, while there is a possibility of a heat wave condition in some Tarai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.    

Tonight, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in the Himalayan region of the Koshi Province, the Department stated, while the rest of the country will be mainly fair.
