122 patients receive cataract surgery service for free in Jumla

Jumla, April 22: A large number of local people received eye care services in a two-day free eye camp organised in Jumla district. 

The eye camp was organized by Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh Jumla with technical assistance from the Himalaya Eye Hospital, Pokhara. A total of 122 people, who had difficulties to buy the service due to economic hardships and geographical remoteness, received cataract surgery service for free in the camp, President of Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh Jumla Jagadish Chaulagain said. In the eye care camp, altogether 546 people received services.

Earlier, separate free eye care camps were conducted in all eight local levels in the district, which provided specialist eye care services to nearly 1,100 people by the Senior Ophthalmologist Hari Bikram Adhikari and his team of the Himalaya Eye Hospital, Pokhara.

Eye Worker Supervisor of Chandannath Eye Hospital Dal Bahadur Mahatara shared that the needy people were hugely benefitted from the free eye care camp. (RSS)
