Stern action demanded against those threatening TU office-bearers of physical attack

Kathmandu, Aug 22: Stern action has been demanded against those who threatened physical attack on office-bearers of the Tribhuvan University.     

During the zero hour in today’s meeting of the National Assembly, NA member Nara Bahadur Bista said threat of physical attack upon office-bearers of the TU has raised question over the country’s security system.     

“A group of Yogendra Rawal that had attacked professor of the TU two years ago has now issued threat of attack upon TU office-bearers. Threat of attack at the academic place like University is the matter of concern. Stern action should be taken against the guilty soon”, stressed Bista.     

Similarly, Uday Bahadur Bohara demanded the government to make arrangement for the resumption of transport service by carrying out repair and maintenance of Rapti highway immediately as flood and landslide have damaged the highway.     

Stating that more than 500 families have been affected by flood and inundation in Kailali due to incessant rainfall for the past three days, Narayan Dutta Mishra urged the government to pay attention to rescue the affected ones.     

Likewise, Madan Kumari Shah (Garima) demanded ruling to lessen incidents of natural disaster, sharing that disaster incidents have started increasing due to excessive exploitation of nature.     

Kamala Panta demanded the government to find out the reason behind increasing cases of dengue infection and spreading of cholera while Rajendra Laxmi Gaire urged the government to introduce a special plan to reduce VAW cases.     

Similarly, Urmila Aryal drew attention of the government to bring a special plan to reduce road accidents, adding vice-chairperson of Sarkegad rural municipality of Humla district, Chandra Singh Karki, died in a road accident while heading towards Nepalgunj from Surkhet.     

NA members—Bhuwan Bahadur Sunar, Krishna Prasad Poudel and Mohammad Khalid also drew government’s attention on contemporary issues.(RSS)
