Landslide disrupts Jajarkot road section

By Basudev Sharma, Jajarkot,  Aug.16: The Chhinchu-Jajarkot road section has been blocked by the landslide triggered by the incessant rainfall.

The road was blocked due to the landslide in Chhedagad Municipality and Bheri Municipality triggered by the incessant rainfall on Thursday night. 

The vehicles commuting to and fro from headquarters from Nepalgunj, Surkhet, Kathmandu, have been disrupted after the landslides occurred from Kudu to Khalanga near the torrential stream slope of Bheri Municpality-13, and Kalapahad, Chhedagad Municipality-12 along the highway. 

According to Purushottam Prasad Pandey, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office, Jajarkot, the commuters are facing difficulty after the repeated landslide on different parts of Chhinchu-Jajarkot road section from Kalapahad to Tallubagar of Chhedagad Municipality-12.

He said that the JCV of the Road Division Office has been working to remove the landslide debris since morning, but due to a lack of energy, JCV has delayed removing debris from other different areas. Therefore, JCV will be added to extend the removal of a landslide of debris. 

 The landslide that fell from Chandannath Gana barrack has been removed since morning. 

No human causalities were recorded because of the landslide but passengers commuting to and fro from headquarters are facing difficulty because of it.
