Madhesi Commission submits its annual report to President Paudel

Kathmandu, Aug 14: The Madhesi Commission on Wednesday submitted its annual report for the fiscal year 2080/81 to President Ramchandra Paudel.     

Commission Chairperson Dr Bijay Kumar Dutta submitted the report to the President at a function held at the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas.     

According to the report, a total of 58 complaints were filed during the period. The Commission has recommended and sent the complaints received annually to the bodies concerned for necessary investigation to give justice to the victims.     

Established for the protection and promotion of welfare as well as empowerment of Madhesi Community, the Commission has legal responsibilities to recommend to the bodies concerned the complaints filed against individuals, organisations violating the rights of Madhesi Community.     

The main issues recommended by the Commission are identification within identity, formation of high-level judicial committee for the investigation of religious conflict, enlisting Sakhadeshwori Bhagawati in the World Heritage List, construction of postal highway, border management and technology in civil service.(RSS)
