Dhorpatan (Baglung), Aug 8: Tamankhola municipality has repaired a 'Panchayat House' located at Taman village by spending one million rupees.
The house (ghar) that was repaired
and maintained by mobilizing local resources would be developed as a museum and
library, it is shared.
Maintenance was carried out to
revitalize the house through a budget of Rs 1 million allocated by Tamankhola
rural municipality for the fiscal year 2080/81 BS and mobilization of kind
labour.
Currently ward no. 3 of the rural
municipality is operating its office in the building. Ward chair Jhak Bahadur
Budha Magar said the office would be shifted to a new house as soon as it was
completed and the Panchayat house would be converted into a library.
During the Panchayat period, the
house had offices of the village panchayat chief, deputy chief and other
office-bearers. The then Taman village panchayat office used to provide
services to the locals of Lukurban, Khunga, Narja, Khungkhani, Taman and
Lammela from the same building. (RSS)
