By Janu Pandey, Kapilvastu, April 22: The police have arrested four people in possession of more than 14 kilograms of hashish from Kapilvastu.
A team from the Area Police Office, Krishnanagar, took them into custody from the bus park area of Krishnanagar Municipality-2.
Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ripendra Kumar Singh, said that a team of police mobilized in civilian dress checked suspicious people around 11 PM on Tuesday based on special information.
During the investigation, police seized 14 kilograms 827 grams of hashish hidden in different parts of the body and inside a bag they were carrying.
The accused have been identified as 34-year-old Nakul Gharti Magar, 37-year-old Dil Kumari Gharti Magar, 37-year-old Manisha Gharti Magar of Nishi Khola Rural Municipality-6 of Baglung, and 40-year-old Dil Kumari Gharti of Bhume Rural Municipality-1 of Rukum(East).
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the seized hashish was being transported to India from Nepal.
Further investigation is being conducted into the arrest as per Drug-related Crime or Narcotic Drug Offense.
