Kathmandu, Aug 3: Nepal defeated India in the CAVA Women's Volleyball Nations League, the first of its defeat to India by Nepali women's team.
To register the historic victory, Nepal defeated India by 3-2 in the match held at the National Sports Council Covered Hall in Tripureshwor.
Nepal won the first set by 25-18, third set by 25-17 and the firth set by 15-13 points, while India won the second and fourth sets.
India, Iran, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and host Nepal are competing in the inaugural CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations League.
Nepal is hosting the tournament jointly with Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA).
The top four teams shall play the semi-finals.
Sri Lanka and the Maldives will play at 3:00 pm on Sunday, and Nepal and Iran at 5:15 pm at the National Sports Council Covered Hall in Tripureshwor. (RSS)
