Jhapa, April 22: Production of renewable pellet energy was started in Mechinagar Municipality-15 in Jhapa district by utilising the agricultural residues and other compressed organic materials available locally.
Pellet energy is a source of energy and has a limited impact on environment and is also considered an alternative to coal, wood and other minerals.
The Parajuli Biomass Brickette Industry has started the production of pellet energy and has the capacity to generate 70,000 kilograms of pellet energy in 12 hours, Manager of Industry Aditya Parajuli said.
According to Parajuli, the pellet energy produced there would be exported to Nepal's other districts and neighbouring country India as well.
The inexpensive and environment-friendly pellet energy is being used for the tea factory, cement industry, brick kiln and iron industry. (RSS)
