blog

Nawalparasi, April 23: Most of the schools, except in two local levels, in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Sustapurba) have commenced new academic session 2083 BS.

The local governments in the district began regular classes for the academic session 2083 BS before the timeline proposed by the federal government.

Despite the federal government's decision to run regular classes from April 28 by enrolling students from May 4, most of the local governments in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Sustapurba) district started regular classes, citing that the delay in student enrollment could affect the academic calendar.

The schools in Madhyabindu Municipality started regular classes for this session on April 19.

Education Officer of the municipality, Padam Raj Acharya, said that the mayor facilitated the schools to resume new academic year following requests from the headmasters of the community schools.

Acharya said that the student enrollment initiative was held on April 14 to 18 and regular classes were started on April 19 in Madhyabindu Municipality.

Acharya stated that all community and institutional schools are open in the municipality for the new academic year.

Likewise, Kawasoti Municipality, Gaindakot Municipality and Hupsekot Rural Municipality also began regular classes from Tuesday and Wednesday.

Education Officer of Kawasoti Municipality Rajan Pandey shared that the schools in the municipality started regular classes from Tuesday.

Similarly, Education Officer of Hupsekot Rural Municipality Madhav Raj Gautam said regular classes kicked off from Wednesday in Hupsekot's schools.

However, Bulingtar and Baudikali rural municipalities are starting regular classes in the schools from today.

Chief of Education Section of Baudikali Rural Municipality, Jiblal Bhusal, said the decision to open schools from April 23 was taken at the request of parents.

The local levels resuming new academic session have argued that the constitution has given rights to the local government to manage the school-level education.

But, Devchuli Municipality and Vinayi Triveni Rural Municipality have decided not to go against the decision of the federal government.  (RSS)
