By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug 1: Shakti Samuha, an antitrafficking organisation, in collaboration with the university of the Fraser valley organised a two-day workshop on photo voice to mark the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

The workshop provided  the people working in anti trafficking efforts with an opportunity  to use photo voice in developing programmes and services to prevent human trafficking and protect trafficking survivors.

The original aspect of the photo voice is that the survivors can also express their suffering and aspirations through the images they use.

On the concluding day of the workshop today, Dr. Rita Dhungel, researcher on human trafficking and assistant professor at the Fraser University, and Charimaya Tamang, Chairperson of Shakti Samuha, expressed commitment to continuing working harder for preventing human trafficking in persons and provide assistance to the survivors.

Service providers in Shakti Samuha working in anti trafficking interventions also cut a cake at the end of the workshop to mark the anti trafficking day.
