Kathmandu, July 30: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday held discussions with litterateurs for more than one and a half hour coinciding with the Sawan 15 – the day of enjoying Kheer (rice pudding) in the agriculture-based Nepali culture.

Likewise, PM Oli also released literary books of his comrades during the programme organized by the CPN (UML)'s Literature, Art and Culture Department at the party's central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur.

Oli released Naresh Shakya's anthology of poems 'Yeuta Nadika Atmakahtya' and his memoir 'Jeevan Anek Ghumtiharuma'.

On the occasion, Oli said that poet Shakya's writings benefit the new generation since he is filled with awakening consciences.

PM Oli also recalled the days of struggles undergone by Shakya and urged him to forget the hardships of the past as he is not alone at present.

Urging Shakya to write further, the PM announced that he would take responsibility for publishing the unpublished works of Shakya.

Likewise, PM Oli said the writings and singings of Laxmi Prasad Devkota, Siddhicharan Shrestha, Ramesh, Rayan, Manjul, Shyam Lamot, JB Tuhure and others were worthy for the development of a matured conscience in the society and arouse the aspirations for change.

UML leaders Pradip Kumar Gyawali, Raghuji Pant and former chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Uprety praised Shakya's contributions to the Nepali literary field and social sector.(RSS)
