Four injured in landslide airlifted to Surkhet hospital

Surkhet, July 17: Four persons injured in a landslide that occurred at Kallena of Kushe rural municipality-8 of Jajarkot district have been airlifted to Surkhet for treatment.     

The injured ones were the earthquake survivors and living in temporary shelters.     

Ward no 8 chair Dilli Bahadur Singh informed that those rescued are Kamal Thapa, 29; DalsariThapa, 35; Tirmaya Thapa, 17, and four-year-old IstikaThapa.     

They suffered severe injuries in the incident. They were brought to Surkhet via Nepali Army helicopter because their treatment was not possible at local health facility, Singh added.     

The ward chair further said the ward had witnessed more than 150 landslides in the wake of monsoon rains.     

He shared the plight that government badly delayed to provide second tranche of assistance to the quake survivors. Similarly, work procedure for building was also yet to be prepared, thereby worsening the situation.(RSS)
