Toddler dies in road accident

Siraha, April 23: A five-year-old girl, Khajija Khatun, lost her life after being struck by a motorcycle at Khoriya Tole of Naraha Rural Municipality-3 along the Choharwa-Siraha roadway on Thursday. 

The District Police Office informed that the motorcycle (Pra 2-01-003 Pa 7696) en route to Mirchaiya from Siraha hit the girl while she walking on roadside. 

Injured severely in the incident, she was rushed to Bardhaman Hospital at Golbazaar for treatment. Unfortunately, the medical staff pronounced her dead upon arrival at the hospital. 

The motorcyclist responsible for the accident fled the scene, and a search for him is underway, according to Ramesh Bahadur Pal, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office. However, the police have impounded the motorcycle. (RSS)
