By Amar Raj Naharki, Tanahun, June 20: The Dumre-Indrawati road section of the Bhanu Highway has been disrupted as the overnight incessant rainfall on Wednesday washed away the culvert.  The flood of the Khatri rivulet at Tuhurepasal, Bhanu Municipality-6, Tanahun, completely damaged the culvert thereby disrupting the road section.

Ward chair of Chandrabati, Bhanu Muniicpality-15, Kuber Khanal, said that the locals of wards 6, 7 and 13 of Bhanu Municipality have been deprived of a commute as a result. The consumer group has been demanding a bridge for a long time, but with lack of action has resulted in the suffering of locals.

He said, "The culvert was swept away in the rainy season of the previous year. The bridge can be built with the investment needed to repair the culvert time and again, but no attention has been drawn to the issue. "

Khanal said that there is no option to build a bridge as the Khatri River is a ridge river.

Deputy chair Uma Gotame of Bhanu Muniicpality-15, said, “We have made a request to build a motor-able bridge in the federal and provincial government but the budget is yet to be allocated.”

She said that the culvert is being repaired to avoid the suffering of locals. The passengers have been left stranded by the disruption in vehicular movements.
